BioI think it's about time to write something here. I don't want to put poetry or anything lame, but I'm never sure what to write about myself. Let me see. I'm a boy person, and I live in Sandgate, Australia. For those of you who don't know where that is (I don't blame you), it's a little town just north of Brisbane, which is the third biggest city on the continent. At the moment, I'm a student at the Queensland University of Technology, although I hope to graduate at the end of 2003. I also run a little website called Halo-17, we try to be an indie music/film/culture site without being pretentious, but we pretty much end up being a half-arsed comedy website about nothing much at all.
I'd really like to meet new people through LJ, because I tend to be a shy person in real life and I find it difficult to talk to new people. So if I leave a message on your LJ, I'm not hitting on you or stalking you, I'm just trying to be friendly. Really! If I leave a message on your LJ, feel free to leave one back in mine, or to IM me or something. I don't bite (I'm not going to make that stupid joke and say "much" after that and... oh damn).
Some other stuff... well, my favourite music albums are "The Smashing Pumpkins - Adore", "The Cure - Disintegration", "Radiohead - Kid A", and "Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here". Deduce what you want for that. I also like indie-lite films, like "Amelie" and "Trainspotting". I don't watch TV, but when I do, it's usually to watch intelligent comedy like "Futurama", "Red Dwarf", or "The Kumars at #42". My sports of choice are cricket and rugby (union), and I am mad fans of both Australia and Ireland in both sports. I also enjoy the playing antics of the North Queensland Cowboys in rugby league.
I also enjoy writing my journal entries in both Irish and English. I mainly do it to help me pick up Irish, because I would very much like to be fluent in it some day. I realise that when I write in Irish, it's probably a horrible hodgepodge of words, but at least I'm trying. I'm hoping that through repeated exposure to the language, I'll slowly be able to clean up all my mistakes and write something passable. I usually do all my short entries in Irish, and longer pieces that people might actually care about in English.
I hope this gave you some insight into what a disgusting geek I am. Plz contact me, I'm so desperately lonely :(. k thx.
